High School Ministry

LIVING OUT THE TRUTH

In order to effectively minister to high school students, we add to the emphasis of understanding the truth (comprehension) to living out the truth (conviction).  There will always be a need to explain the truth about Jesus to high school students.  But the many of our high school students aren’t lacking knowledge of who Jesus is and what he has done.  What they tend to lack is an appropriate response to who Christ is and what he has done.  So the primary emphasis in our ministry to high school students is on developing and living out biblical convictions - treasuring the truth of God’s Word and living it out regardless of the cost.

SUNDAY NIGHTS

The first opportunity is a twice-a-month large group meeting for high school students which meets on Sunday evenings from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.  The aim of this meeting is twofold: to warmly and winsomely welcome all students who come (whether the student is not a Christian or spiritually on the fence or walking with Christ) and to proclaim Christ in order to call students to follow him.

D-GROUPS

A D-Group (Discipleship Group) is small group with the aim of encouraging students to press in and press on in their pursuit of Christ.  D-Groups meet in the homes of families two Sundays a month.  They are organized by grade and gender.  A document that spells out all the details of D-Groups and scheduling in general is available at the Information Center or by calling the church office.
