Who We Are and What We're All About: Mission - Philippians 1:1-30
Just three basic questions today:
1. Are you "interceding" for the mission we are committed to as a church? If you are, what is guiding your prayers? What exactly are you praying for? If not, why not? Is there something else that you are giving focused time and energy to that could be robbing time and energy from prayer?
2. Are you "investing" financially in the mission we are committed to as a church? Would you describe your giving as obedient? Is it generous even beyond obedient? Is it at times sacrificial even beyond generous? If your giving cannot be described by these words, what is the reason for that? Is there some place where your money is being spent self-indulgently (i.e. wastefully)?
3. Are you "involved" personally in the mission we are committed to as a church? How? Does your involvement participate in both the breadth-advancing and depth-advancing of the gospel? Are you more comfortable with one part of the mission than the other? How might we achieve a God-pleasing balance there?
